Our Story
Dupree Catering + Events was started 30 years ago by Harriet Dupree Bradley. Harriet is a Lexington native whose love for feeding people with gracious service came from her family’s Southern roots. After college, Harriet earned a Diploma from Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School and returned to Lexington in 1985 to launch Dupree Catering. Dupree Catering continued to grow and operate as an industry leader. In what seemed a natural progression to expand, Dupree Catering merged with Azur Catering in 2014, and now operates as Dupree Catering + Events. The Azur Food Group (AFG) and Dupree Catering share a food and service philosophy that has become inherent in their businesses: food should be prepared by hand, from scratch, using the best, farm-to-table ingredients possible with gracious service. The merger of the extraordinary culinary skills of these talented chefs and personnel from both AFG and Dupree Catering will add even more innovation and flexibility to the cuisine offering — and a service level that rivals anything found in the Bluegrass. Dupree Catering is now led by Tom Evans. Tom Evans was recruited to lead Azur Catering after 30 years with his family’s Washington DC catering company, one of the most successful in that market. The combined skills of Tom and Harriet bring a level of service to Dupree Catering that truly makes every event tasteful and memorable.
