AT BUFFALO TRACE DISTILLERY
Saturday, February 11th in the George T. Stagg Gallery located inside the Visitor Center. The cost for “Buffalo Love” is $100/couple, or $50 per person. Reservations are required and can be made by emailing Sarah Webb at swebb1@buffalotrace.com or calling Ms. Webb at 502-696-5929. The event will run from 7-9 p.m. All attendees must be 21 years of age or older. Attire is smart casual. This is the first of many new events Buffalo Trace Distillery will be adding for 2012. More details will be coming on the new events later this year.
It may be Cupid who receives all of the “angel’s share” at Buffalo Trace Distillery this February, during the first-ever Valentine’s Day bourbon tasting and food pairing led by Buffalo Trace’s own Master Blender Drew Mayville.
Couples will be treated to such succulent treats as oysters on the half shell, lamb brochettes, and a sorghum glazed pork belly, while learning how the flavors pair easily with some of Buffalo Trace’s award-winning bourbons.
The evening will start at 7 p.m. with a specially-created cocktail and passed appetizers. Then Mr. Mayville will take the guests on a fun-filled and educational bourbon journey as they learn how to nose, taste, and appreciate all the succulent flavors brought forth by some of Buffalo Trace’s most highly sought-after products, all the while enjoying a special menu created by Dupree Catering to complement the whiskeys.
The six course food and spirit pairing will feature Buffalo Trace products such as Rain Vodka, Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Eagle Rare Single Barrel Bourbon, W. L. Weller Bourbon, Elmer T. Lee Bourbon and Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream.
All of the dishes, created exclusively for Buffalo Trace Distillery by Dupree Catering, will incorporate the aforementioned products in the preparation. Buffalo Trace’s Master Blender, Drew Mayville, will explain how the dish compliments the selected libation and what flavors one can expect to find in each combination.
